Abiodun Emmanuel Aina is the Team Lead for the Step-Up Green Climate Warriors Initiative and a Data Analyst. He holds a Master’s Degree in Economics with a minor and allied course in Environment from the University of Abuja, Nigeria. He conducted research focused on the Impact of Climate Change on Agricultural Output in Nigeria. Abiodun is a 2022 Youth Negotiator at COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, a member of UNESCO Groundwater Youth Network (GWYN), recognized as a 2022 WASH Champion by Mina Guli founder of the Thirst Foundation in Australia, a fellow at the 2019 World Youth Forum in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt and recently won The Awesome Foundation Grant from the United States. He is also the country coordinator for SUKHI222 in Nigeria. He enjoys travelling, listening to music, playing table tennis and reading in his spare time.
CAROLINA M JOYCE
Zumji Mark John Dechi is the Project Officer of Step-Up Green Climate Warriors Initiative, he holds a master’s in Economics, alongside a postgraduate diploma in Education. He has researched the impact of HIV/AIDS on patients receiving antiretroviral drugs in Nigeria. He has attended numerous capacity-building training and is deeply involved in social/community works and research. He is a fellow of the young innovation leaders’ scheme, Zumji has volunteered for USAID, and Savior for Africa, among other organizations, and he is a recipient of the commendations award from the National youth service corps in Nigeria. He loves reading, travelling, listening to good music and watching movies.
Safuratu Abdullahi is the Gender Network Facilitator for Step-Up Green Climate Warriors Initiative. She is a graduate of Geography and Environmental Management from the University of Abuja Nigeria and holds a postgraduate degree in Environmental Planning and Protection, alongside, a Master’s degree in Environmental Planning and Protection. She is also, the Land Resource Officer at Abuja Environmental Protection Board, FCT Abuja. She is an aesthete and enjoys reading, travelling, drawing and calligraphy.
Dr. Babatunde Adesanya
Babatunde is an economist, climate change enthusiast and monitoring and evaluation specialist. He is also a research analyst with over 9 years of professional experience. He is skilled in the use of both qualitative and quantitative research techniques. Babatunde is an advanced user of statistical software packages such as E-views, R, STATA and SPSS. He has published in local and internationally recognized peer review scholarly journals and has worked on numerous research projects funded by development partners such as the European Union (E.U), United Nations Development Programmes (UNDP), International Labour Organization (ILO), Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). He is a member of the International Project Management Professionals (IPMP) and the Nigerian Economic Society (NES). He was a Research Scholar at Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). Babatunde holds B.Sc. Economics from the University of Abuja, Master’s Degree with First Division in Economics from the University of Lucknow, India and PhD in Economics from the University of Abuja.
Shitnan Godwin is the Communication Officer for Step-Up Green Climate Warriors Initiative, she holds a degree in Sociology and Anthropology, alongside a Diploma in Environmental Health. She has conducted research on the effect of contraceptives among young girls in Nigeria and engaged in programs geared towards empowering women. She loves listening to music, reading and watching movies.
Ogunrinde Joseph is the Field Coordinator of Step-Up Green Climate Warriors Initiative, he holds a bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Abuja. He has conducted various research such as the production and characteristics of enzymes produced by Penicillium marneffei found in soil samples in Abuja, and the prevalence and load of Aflatoxin-producing Aspergillus Flavus found in Abuja Nigeria. He has attended numerous capacity training alongside the National Environmental Safety and Regulation Agency (NESREA) and has good knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). He loves sports and enjoys good music.
Hauwa Ghaji Bamanga
Hauwa Bamanga is the Finance Officer for Step-Up Green Climate Warriors Initiative. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Environmental Management from the University of Abuja. She was the first female president of her Department. Hauwa also works with National Youth for Women Empowerment and Education in Nigeria. She enjoys travelling and meeting new people.
Imoikor Joshua is the Content Developer for Step-Up Green Climate Warriors Initiative and an Environmental Activist. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography and Environmental Management from the University of Abuja. He is a writer, a content developer and a social scientist with a touch of history. He enjoys making research and he is concerned about man’s imprint on the environment. He believes that the earth was made for man and it is man’s rightful duty to take care of it.
